Busy busy busy!

It appears I am pants at blogging.
But I am very very good at being busy!

DENY have awesome new products available today (with more on the way), you can now buy shoes with my artwork! My spoonflower shop is getting more and more scrummy, I have a new ENVELOP shop (which is Europe based so I'm thrilled about that). And more very interesting projects in the pipeline...

Probably the best place to keep a beady eye on me is on my facebook page :)

Happy New Year!

I've not posted for a while... the run up to Christmas is such a busy time for me ~ and I got the dreaded 'zombie virus' too so ARGHHHH! But all well and happy for Christmas... which was just wonderful.
I hope you all had a great time ~ 2013! Wowie. Time goes so fast! I've started the year with a few major decisions.... more drawing and designing ~ less 'making' for money! Though I'm keen to start sewing more for fun.... clothes and stuff for me!
Bespoke sewn personalised things can still be ordered through my website ~ but not through notonthehighstreet.

So Valentine's Day is next on the list! Check out a new pillow on zazzle and a lovely lolly pop graphic on society6 :D

New venture with THE KASE ~ my designs are in 5 shops in Paris at the moment ~ they will be online soon! And some of my art can be found at the wonderful Modern Mural too.

BUSY BEE!! Anyway. I'll be back soon I promise.
Happy New Year and lots of awesomeness to you xxx

pyramid jugglers or lavenders (craft party FQ)

Etsy are having a Craft Party Global Celebration of Meeting and Making on August 24th, 2012 and, in the spirit of the event, Spoonflower are holding a contest to create a crafty party cut & sew project that fits on a fat quarter!
I wanted to keep it simple.... and used a mix and match fabric combination to hopefully please most folks (and suitable for hand sewing too). Each FQ kit will make 8 pyramids! I've used some of my fave patterns (none of which have been entered into any previous contests).
I bought a whole yard of poplin (4 FQs) so made lots of pyramids!

My hubby ~ great juggler! I'm rubbish! Though I'll be making some Doctor Who jugglers when I get a spare minute or three so perhaps I will learn!
Find the fabric kit on spoonflower here :D xxx

ps. NEW ~ scrummy bikinis and board shorts? oh yes....

Arilicious Pomegranate Patch Tote Bag

This weeks spoonflower contest is POMEGRANATES.... well, I had fun with my design 'arilicious'. Hand drawn in ink and then messed about with on the computer to make a groovy repeat and watercolour effect. Yummy colours! So I made some coordinating spots. I received the swatches this week. Printed on linen cotton canvas and fabulous! I made a patched little tote bag with them for a spoonflower / Craftsy contest. Here are the swatches I used ~

And this is the little patched tote I made (click to give me a ♥) ~

It's a really simple bag and I don't have a pattern or measurements (it's versatile ~ I use the same method to make larger across body messenger type bags). But here is a general guide.

Cut 24 x 4" squares, arrange, patch together (I zig zag overstitched). Lightly interface. Cut front side true. Right sides facing, sew front and back together and overlock. Sew across bottom corners at 90 degrees to give a flat base. Repeat process for lining. Sew the snipped corners of bag and lining together. Turn bag body right side out. Press over the tops of lining and bag so they are level. Cut handles to suit (4 times wider than you want them) just like bias binding ~ fold into middle, fold again and sew edges. Insert between fabric layers of the bag and pin (central to the patch seams). Then sew three times around the top (overstitch a little over the handles). Done! Cute bag!

I really love this design ~ so much so I submitted it to DENY where it looks fab on their products! Sharon xxx

The Untempered Schism

Well, just in case anyone was in any doubt... I LOVE DOCTOR WHO! And this weeks spoonflowers 'hand drawn' contest allowed me a fair few hours (cough) of fun.... entirely drawn in ink, scanned and then repeated on the computer!

I'm still waiting for my yard of canvas.... (hurry up postie!) but this design can be seen on fabric and on cool cases, art canvas and cards on society6

And I would LOVE it if you voted for me and my favourite mad man in a blue box!!!

I'll post a fabric pic as soon as it arrives :D xxx

Fabric8 contest ~ FANTASTICAL STELLATA

Super thrilled that I made it into the top 100 entries for the Robert Kaufman Spoonflower fabric design contest! To make top 8 and have the chance to do a whole collection around this I really need your votes. Please click through on the picture ~ there is a contest link after the blurb on the fabric8 page. You can vote for as many as you like, a vote for my fantastical stellata (by scrummy) would be hugely appreciated!

Like the design and want it on STUFF rather than fabric?? Check out zazzle and society6! The fabric will be for sale very soon.

Crossing my fingers.... it took weeks of very very late nights to get this just as I wanted it. I hope you like it too :)
