And this is the little patched tote I made (click to give me a ♥) ~
It's a really simple bag and I don't have a pattern or measurements (it's versatile ~ I use the same method to make larger across body messenger type bags). But here is a general guide.
Cut 24 x 4" squares, arrange, patch together (I zig zag overstitched). Lightly interface. Cut front side true. Right sides facing, sew front and back together and overlock. Sew across bottom corners at 90 degrees to give a flat base. Repeat process for lining. Sew the snipped corners of bag and lining together. Turn bag body right side out. Press over the tops of lining and bag so they are level. Cut handles to suit (4 times wider than you want them) just like bias binding ~ fold into middle, fold again and sew edges. Insert between fabric layers of the bag and pin (central to the patch seams). Then sew three times around the top (overstitch a little over the handles). Done! Cute bag!
I really love this design ~ so much so I submitted it to DENY where it looks fab on their products! Sharon xxx
